Live! IPPE 2017
The event offers a wide range of educational opportunities across the feed and agricultural sectors. The convention is sponsored by the America Feed Industry Association (AFIA), The North American Meat Institute (NAMI) and the US Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY). It runs from January 31-Febuary 2 and takes place in Atlanta, Georgia.
The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) will host its annual Feed Production Education Program on February 1, as part of IPPE. The trade group said the free program is ideal for feed facility managers, operations personnel and mill personnel.
The AFIA said the half-day session will educate participants about expanding regulatory requirements and updates on changes from federal agencies, including the US Department of Labor and the Food and Drug Administration. Other topics include: FSMA Readiness: What the Industry Looks Like a Year Post Rulings, Separation of Fines and Nutrients during Bulk Transport, and Advances in Pelleting Technology.
The US feed facility of the year award winner will also be announced.
“With ever-expanding regulatory requirements, this program will equip those working in feed manufacturing with up-to-date information, enabling them to comply with those requirements,” said Gary Huddleston, AFIA’s manager of feed manufacturing safety and environmental affairs. “Experts on pellet quality and product segregation—two major concerns for facility managers—will discuss findings of recent research on these topics,” he said.
