Freshly formed Iowa-based firm Embria Health Sciences enters the
human nutrition market with the launch of a fully pasteurized
selenium yeast.

The product, according to the firm, yields high levels of selenomethionine, an organic form of selenium that rapidly metabolizes within the body to yield high bioavailability and retention.

"We look forward to carving a science-driven niche within the ingredient supply market throughour unique approach to human health and longevity," says Paul R. Faganel, president of Embria.

According to Embria, the technology behind the product is based on a similar process pioneered by its parent company, Diamond V Mills, that supplies animal nutrition ingredients and fermented yeast products.

Embria's business philosophy is based on the innovative application of new technologies to human nutrition, adds Faganel.
