Cargill invests for CEE animal protein industry

- Last updated on GMT

Cargill has unveiled new investment in its animal plant in Sura Mica, Romania, as it positions to take better advantage of demand for animal protein products in Central and Eastern Europe.

The agrifoods giant acquired LNB International, a manufacturer of premixes, concentrates and complete feeds in 2007. The investment includes constructing a new pelleting line and a warehouse for finished goods. This will allow for the manufacture of pelleted feed in bag and bulk form.

The project, expected to be completed in summer 2010, will bring a capacity increase of almost 50,000 metric tonnes per year – and could create up to 15 new jobs.

The level of the investment has not been disclosed.
