Cargill has named Sarena Lin as the new president of the company's global compound feed business unit.

She was formerly corporate vice president and head of strategy and business development at the agri-giant.

Lin replaces Joe Stone, who served as president of the compound feed business unit for the last six years. He has been promoted to oversee the Cargill Animal Nutrition platform, which is made up of the company's compound feed business unit, now led by Lin, and premix business unit, led by David Webster.

"Sarena is the ideal candidate to lead our compound feed business given her global background and multi-cultural perspective, her experience in high-growth and emerging-market environments, and her proven abilities in mergers and acquisitions, strategy and execution," said Stone.  "Sarena and David will continue to partner on strengthening Cargill's animal nutrition offerings and leveraging the synergies between the two business units."

Lin joined Cargill in 2011 after 13 years at McKinsey & Company where she specialized in mergers and acquisitions.
