Feed innovation garnered most interest at EuroTier 2016
The majority of visitors to EuroTier 2016 were interested in animal feed related exhibits, with a poll showing some 49% citing that as their reason for attending the show.
And 48% of survey respondents said they came to the fair to find out about management and feeding technology.
The poll was conducted by Wissler and Partner Trade Fair Marketing. The organizers of EuroTier, the German Agricultural Society (DLG), had commissioned that Basel based company to conduct a representative survey of visitors to this year’s edition.
The firm said it interviewed 2,499 visitors at various locations at the exhibition.
Most attendees were from Germany, with 22% coming from other countries, they reported.
They survey results, they said, indicated 66% of the visitors worked in the farming sector, 10% in feed and pharmaceutical, 5% in trading and sales, and 2% were veterinarians.
The reasons for visitors attending the fair varied from ‘wanting to talk to manufacturers’ at 33%, seeking ‘information on innovations and trends’ at 32%, looking for ‘market and supply information’ at 28%, interest in ‘information on products or systems or applications’ at 25%, or ‘meeting with colleagues’ at 22%.
Cattle was the animal species visitors said they were most interested in, with 59% highlighting that sector as important for them, those looking to get information related to the pig sector came next at 38%, followed by those citing interest in the poultry segment at 29%. Some 8% of respondents said they were focused on aquaculture related exhibits.
