Regulatory vacancy filled at US feed trade group
John Stewart has taken on the role of manager of government affairs at the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA).
The AFIA said his main responsibility will be to educate US government officials about the feed industry: “He will lead AFIA's federal advocacy efforts, coordinate member fly-ins and represent the organization at meetings and hearings. He will also be part of AFIA's team monitoring state affairs and assist in the development of the association's comments and testimony.”
Previously, Stewart worked with the office of US Republican, David Rouzer, where he was a staff assistant. He has also worked for the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture and Elanco Animal Health.
He holds a bachelor's degree in agricultural education with minors in animal science, agribusiness management and agricultural leadership from North Carolina State University.
