Spray-dried plasma
A researcher from the University of Guelph in Canada suggested that there may be a role for the use of spray-dried plasma in the diets of young poultry.
That work looked at the amount of digestible nutrition offered by plasma or other feed ingredients and considered use in production systems that do not use antibiotics.
Similar conclusions also came from a group of researchers in Australia, who found that the ingredient might be of interest to the poultry industry.
There have been some questions about the use of spray-dried animal plasma products. But, other research suggests a role for the ingredient, especially when a disease challenge may be present.
