Greenbelt Resources initially looked at how best to manage trub and other by-products generated during the brewing or wine-making processes. However, the feed ingredient produced during the recycling process is a high-protein meal stemming from the yeast involved in producing alcohol.
Similarly, Clearas Water Recovery was looking at ways to clean wastewater and turned to algae production as a way to reduce elements like phosphorus and nitrogen from wastewater streams. However, the process generates a feed ingredient high in protein and other nutrients.
