From gas to feed
NouriTech is continuing to work on its gas fermentation process, which can be used to generate protein meal. When operational it will producer Calysta’s FeedKind protein product.
The company announced work on a 37-acre production facility in May 2017, with the goal of bringing the site online in 2019.
Calysta has been sending samples of its protein meal to start trials and addressing the regulatory process. The meal is generated using a microbial culture fed on natural gas.
However, the companies aren’t the only ones interested in the process Danish developer Unibio also has been working to generate protein meal from natural gas. The company has been considering production in West Africa.
