Food Chain, the BBC World Service program, wants to recognize companies carrying out outstanding work in food production and farming, businesses that challenge established methods and practices to secure the future.

It is calling for nominations for its Global Champion Award for 2018.

The prize was established as a new category last year in the BBC’s prestigious Food & Farming Awards; the inaugural Global Champion Award went to South African insect meal producer, AgriProtein.

Using a factory roll-out model developed with global engineering firm Christof Industries, that company is looking to deliver fly farms on a turnkey basis anywhere in the world at the rate of up to 25 factories per year.

The broadcaster said the winner of the 2018 award will be presented on Wednesday June 13, and that nominations can be made until 23:59 GMT on February 15.
