Danish feed technology company, Skiold, has entered the Myanmar market. It said it is providing equipment for a pig farm in that Asian country.

Skiold also announced that it will move to strengthen its sales and service organizations in Asia and Oceania through a recruitment drive this year.

The supplier, headquartered in Sæby in Denmark, supplies equipment, project solutions, management systems and services within three areas of business: grain and feed milling plant production, piggery equipment and components, and seed cleaning, grading and treating equipment.

In terms of its initial move into the Asia Pacific market, Skiold established a presence in Australia in 2000; that initiative was followed by entry into the Chinese market in 2012 and Vietnam in 2015.

The company said that, today, over 30% of its turnover comes from Asia and Oceania - it claims to be a supplier to some of the leading players in the pig and feed industry in the region.

Acquired by the Solix Group in December 2017, Skiold reported revenue of DKK 615m (US$101m) in 2016.
