The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority today approved the divestment of Raisio’s cattle feed business to Swedish cooperative, Lantmännen Agro.

The transaction was conditional on such sanctioning.

Raisio expects the deal to be completed and the business to move to the buyer this month or next

The divested cattle feed business, which is valued at €34m, includes two production plants located in Ylivieska and Kouvola, as well as brands such as Maituri and Melli.

The company said Raisioagro’s Benemilk licence is also going to be transferred to Lantmännen Agro.

Those working in its cattle feed business will now become employees of the Swedish cooperative, added the Finnish player.
