China’s commerce ministry (MOFCOM) has ended its anti-dumping investigation against imports of methionine originating in Singapore, Malaysia and Japan, and will not be implementing tariffs on such imports.
The US International Trade Commission (USITC) shared its preliminary findings that there is reasonable indication that the US methionine industry has been materially injured by imports sold by France, Japan, and Spain at “less than fair value”.
Evonik has opened its second facility for methionine production in Singapore; the new plant on Jurong Island has seen investment of more than half a billion euros and the creation of 100 additional jobs.
