Tyson’s 2m acres of corn
In an effort to address company sustainability Tyson Foods has announced that it is working to improve farming practices for 2m acres of corn raised to feed its birds.
Although the company does not grow its own feed crops, it buys feed ingredients as part of its poultry production operation.
The goals of the program include reducing greenhouse gas emissions involved with feed production and reducing agricultural runoff from the feed grains. The plan is to be in place by 2020.
