Delacon grows its US poultry team
Delcaon has added two new members to its US poultry team to address research and education related to use of phytogenics in the US.
The Austria-based company has hired Stacie Appleton and Megan Koppen for its US sales and technical team, the company announced.
Appleton has a PhD in animal nutrition from Texas A&M University, and during her time there, worked with poultry to characterize guar meal as a feed ingredient. She completed her Master of Science in agriculture development at Stephen F Austin State University.
Prior to starting with Delacon, she was a member of the technical sales team at Purina and taught as assistant professor at Stephen F Austin State University. In her role as at the university, she also acted as an academic consultant for research, nutrition and management.
She brings to the team her experience in animal science, research and teaching, the company said.
Koppen has a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Purdue University and a master’s degree in poultry science from Texas A&M. Before starting with Delacon, she worked for Perdue Farms and with Jennie-O Turkey Stores. During her time there, she helped manage husbandry practices, bird health, nutrition programs and research trials.
As members of the US poultry team, both Appleton and Koppen will work with field trials, research, product development and help with sales and training, the company said.
