Cargill’s Mark Poeschl new CEO of US ag education group

A Cargill executive is be the next CEO of a US farming student organization, the FFA, that promotes agricultural education and offers leadership training.

Mark Poeschl, who is current vice president, group director, stakeholder engagement at Cargill Animal Nutrition (CAN), is expected to bring a perspective on business, global awareness, customer service, finance and IT to the student orientated group, said the FFA.

The CAN executive, it said, previously served as the state FFA president from Nebraska. He helped establish a scholarship endowment for FFA members with the help of the National FFA Foundation.

“I am honored and excited to assume this leadership role in the FFA, an organization that has been instrumental in both my personal and career development,”​ said Poeschl.

He supervises CAN’s global feed software business, Feed Management Systems (FMS) and leads its development activities in Africa. He also serves as that division's link to external stakeholders to address issues such as sustainability. 

Previously, Poeschl held responsibility for the company’s premix businesses in EMEA.

He is also involved with a family farming operation in Nebraska, said the FFA.
