From fish feed manufacturing to breeding
Former BioMar executive, Hans Halle-Knutzen, has been named AquaGen’s new sales and marketing director.
That Norwegian entity is a breeding company that develops, produces and delivers genetic start material to the global aquaculture farming industry. AquaGen owns and further develops the world’s first research based breeeding programs for Atlantic salmon and rainbow trout that began in the 1970s.
He has a certificate of apprenticeship in aquaculture, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Sør-Trøndelag University College (HiST), and a master’s degree in business from Queensland University of Technology/Stockholm University.
He began his career at Hydrotech AS as a fish technician, before taking over the operating responsibility of a site in Sunndalsfjord. He the exited aquaculture for a time before returning to the sector. From 2013 until recently, he was sales and marketing director at Danish fish feed manufacturer, BioMar.
"He has an extensive experience from management positions in the both the aquaculture industry and the banking industry."
Halle-Knutzen will be part of the AquaGen management team, and will be located at the genetic company's headquarters in Trondheim.
