Animal nutrition company, EW Nutrition, has acquired the feed quality and pigments business from Novus International, Inc.

The deal also gives EW Nutrition ownership of a production facility in Constantí, Spain.

The financial details of the sale are confidential.

The transaction closed yesterday [February 1]. The parties said a services agreement between the companies would ensure customers are supported through the transition.

The deal will reinforce EW Nutrition’s global market position, and increase its product portfolio and geographical reach, said Michael Gerrits, managing director, EW Nutrition.

The acquisition includes feed preservatives, feed mill processing aids, and feed ingredients, brands such as AGRADO, for instance, a product that is designed to protect feed ingredients such as oils, fats, and vitamins from oxidation, and also remove harmful peroxides and free radicals in the rumen.

The divestment of that Novus division was carried out as part of Project Destiny, the company’s multi-phase strategic plan that was launched in 2020 and is aimed at focusing Novus’ business strategy and offerings around animal gut health.

“We are pleased to have found a committed owner for these platforms so that they may continue bringing value to the industry,” said Novus CEO, Dan Meagher.

The total products included in the sale are:

  • ACIDOMIX preservative pre-mix
  • AGRADO feed ingredient

  • PRO-STABIL preservative pre-mix
