Nutreco has announced that David Blakemore will join the company as CEO of Trouw Nutrition, also becoming a member of its management board in January 2023.

He will be responsible for the livestock nutrition business covering complete feed, mixed products and feed additives under the Trouw Nutrition and Selko brands.

Blakemore will take over from Saskia Korink in that role. Korink joined Trouw Nutrition in 2018 as innovation director and become its CEO in August 2020. A spokesperson told us that she “has decidedto pursue her career outside of Nutreco.”

Previously president of animal nutrition and health of DSM, Blakemore was also a member of that company's leadership team.

Before DSM, he worked at The Dow Chemical Company, predominantly in the agro sciences division. He has held senior leadership positions in multiple geographies, living and working in the US, New Zealand, Latin America, and Switzerland.

I’m delighted that David will be joining Nutreco to lead and develop the Trouw Nutrition business,” said Nutreco CEO Fulco van Lede. “David has a wealth of experience in our industry that will not only be of great benefit to Trouw Nutrition but also to the entire company in his role as Management Board member.”

Blakemore commented: “It is an honor to join the great team at Nutreco. I am aligned and passionate about our purpose of Feeding the Future and look forward to delivering on the full potential of Trouw Nutrition’s industry-leading position, continuing a strong focus on our customers, and delivering solutions for our industry.”
