Sales of antibiotics for livestock in Europe have fallen again, with the latest data signifying a reduction of over a third in antimicrobial usage in farm animals in the region between 2011 and 2018.
The UK’s National Pig Association (NPA) has praised the drop in antibiotic use in the UK pig sector, as announced on May 30, but warned there would be challenges ahead as the industry aimed to meet further reduction targets.
