ForFarmers says it is looking to grab the number one spot as supplier of piglet feed to sow farmers in North West Europe with a new range it has developed with Trouw Nutrition.

The Dutch feed players are targeting pig producers in the Netherlands, Germany, the UK and Belgium with the piglet targeted products, VIDA, which the firms said are aimed at piglets from day one through to the grower phase.

CEO of ForFarmers, Yoram Knoop, told us in September the new brand would help the company boost its share of the piglet feed market in Europe.

“While ForFarmers is the largest overall swine feed supplier in the UK, we have some ground to gain in terms of our piglet nutrition positioning there and elsewhere,” he said.

ForFarmers has existing piglet products but not one piglet nutrition program, which the collaboration with Nutreco, said Knoop. “The piglet range harnesses the combined knowledge of both feed producers – it encompasses an overarching approach that can be adapted to local pig market needs,” he added.
