New faces at US feed and food regulatory level
The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture in the US has brought in a new associate director. Janell Hendren will be on the public policy team as the associate director of public policy and food safety programs.
She is set to represent the association on work to implement the food safety modernization act (FSMA) and appropriations issues, said NASDA.
“I am very excited for the opportunity to apply my state-specific policy experience to the national agriculture policy arena,” said Hendren. “Food safety is vitally important to the state departments of agriculture and I look forward to advancing NASDA’s work on this issue.”
Before starting with NASDA, Hendren worked as the national affairs coordinator for the Florida Farm Bureau Federation, where her focus was grassroots organization, and on policy related to labor, trade, water quality and other farm programs.
