Avangardco poultry feed mill seized in Ukraine
Avangardco, the largest producer of egg products in Ukraine, said it has stopped production at its Vyhlehirskyi feed mill, located in the Donetsk region, following the plant's occupation by armed individuals on Friday.
The company said that it evacuated its feed mill employees.
The plant supplies feed stock to the group’s poultry farms, which are located in the Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv regions.
One of six feed plants owned by the group, the mill accounted for 11% of Avangardco’s total production of feed stock in 2013.
Avangardco said it “is currently working with the relevant authorities to resolve this situation and to resume production at the Vyhlehirskyi feed mill.”
