Bühler, following on from its recently announced tie-up with the UK's Entocycle, is now partnering with NRGene Technologies, an Israeli genomics firm, in the field of black soldier flygenetics and processing.
Swiss plant equipment manufacturer, Bühler, and UK-based, Entocycle, a provider of insect farming technology, have joined forces to drive adoption of large-scale black soldier fly (BSF) operations.
Bühler sees higher demand for consultancy services in relation to reducing energy consumption at feed plants in European markets, particularly over the past few months.
Bühler says innovative services it introduced in 2021 in relation to pelleting and moisture control for feed millers reduces the energy consumption of the feed pelleting process and lowers the C02 footprint of feed plants by 4%.
French insect feed producer, Agronutris, has bolstered its strategic partnership with Bühler in its bid to get to commercial-scale production. Its first industrial plant is scheduled to be up and running in the last quarter of 2021.
