In addition to making regional partnership, some companies have focused on bringing new or different types of feed grains to countries across Africa. Chicago-based Chromatin formed an alliance with Zaad Holdings to offer new types of sorghum to the market.
The project was part of a global emphasis on expanding the sorghum market, the company told us. One goal of the project was to offer access to high quality seeds at an affordable price.
In January, the French sustainable farming initiative Foundation Avril and AGROPOL signed an agreement with the agriculture ministry of Burkina Faso to boost soybean production in that African country.
